Singing and COVID-19

Sing to Beat are looking for volunteer participants who live in Kent (and Medway) who are experiencing post-COVID symptoms to singing groups for people living with ‘Long COVID’.

Groups will meet three times a week for a maximum of 30 minutes of singing exercises. You will meet other people living with Long COVID.

The sessions will take place at 12:15pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you are interested in taking part, please email  Project Manager This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more details.

Sing to Beat has partnered with the NHS to deliver a programme of support for patients experiencing chronic post-COVID symptoms. Our friends at Music4Wellbeing will also be part of the delivery and evaluation and research will be conducted by the University of Derby.

Short, regular, singing sessions will be delivered online to patients, who will be signposted to the service by medical professionals across the four integrated care partnerships that make up the Kent area. The four regions are:

  • East Kent
  • West Kent
  • Medway and Swale
  • Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley

The symptoms of post-COVID patients typically include (but are not limited to):

  • Extreme fatigue
  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Breathlessness
  • Poor mental wellbeing

It is hoped that group singing may alleviate one or more of these symptoms and in addition, provide support and some social cohesion for patients.

More details will be available when the project begins. For further information, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
